Welcome to Ledger.com/Start! This guide will help you set up your Ledger hardware wallet step-by-step. In just a few minutes, you’ll have a secure way to store and manage your cryptocurrency.
When you receive your Ledger wallet, check that the box is sealed and has not been tampered with. Inside, you’ll find your Ledger device, a USB cable, and a recovery sheet. Connect your device to your computer to get started.
Ledger Live is the official application used to manage your crypto. Download it from the official Ledger website. After installation, open the app and select “Set up a new device.”
Create a strong PIN code directly on your Ledger device. This code protects your wallet from unauthorized access. Remember your PIN—if you forget it, you’ll need your recovery phrase to restore your wallet.
Next, your device will generate a 24-word recovery phrase. This is the most important step in protecting your crypto. Write it down on the recovery sheet provided and store it safely offline. Never share it online or with anyone else.
Once your Ledger device is ready, open Ledger Live and install the apps for the cryptocurrencies you want to use—like Bitcoin, Ethereum, or others. Each app allows you to manage that specific asset securely.
In Ledger Live, you can now add your accounts. You’ll be able to check balances, send, and receive crypto safely. All transactions must be confirmed on your Ledger device, keeping your assets protected from online threats.
Always use the official Ledger website and apps. Be cautious of fake links or phishing attempts. Remember—Ledger will never ask for your 24-word recovery phrase.
